Obituary of Hubert Donald Owen

Owen: Hubert Donald, A resident of R.R. 1 Dover Centre, Hubert Owen passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Chatham Campus on Sunday, January 23, 2011, with his family by his side, at the age of 85. Born in Chatham, son of the late Wilfred and Jean (nee McKay) Owen. Loving husband for over 61 years to Bessie (nee Stacey) Owen. Dear father to David Owen, Donald Owen, Dennis and Nancy Owen, Jane and Patrick Lenouvel, Jill and Brian McFadden. Proud grandfather to 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Hubert farmed in Dover Township his entire life. Throughout his farming career, he was active in many agricultural organizations. He is also an Inductee into the Kent Agricultural Hall of Fame. Hubert and Bessie also used to enjoy golfing and curling. Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Jim Kettle officiating. Interment to follow at Owen Cemetery, Dover Township.
