Obituary of Noble Leroy 'Roy' Howes

Howes: Noble Leroy “Roy”, A resident of Chatham, Roy Howes died peacefully at home on January 7, 2011 at the age of 90. Born in Wabash, Ontario; son of the late Thomas and Margaret (nee Ellis) Howes. Predeceased by his wife Elvera Howes (nee Scherle) (2004). Dear father of Wayne Howes of Chatham. Grandfather to David Howes of Thamesville and great-grandfather of 2. Survived by his brothers Leonard of B.C., Ray of Wallaceburg; and his sister Shirley Browse and her husband Ken of Chatham. Predeceased by his brothers Ivan, Lyle, Garnet, Elmer, Glenn, Alvin, John, Harvey and his sister Rita Mae. Roy was a Custodian at St. Joseph’s Hospital before his retirement. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Robert Beasley officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Memorial donations to honour Roy’s life can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society and would be appreciated by the family.
