Obituary of Robert Bruce Nichol

Nichol, Robert Bruce, a resident of Blenheim. Robert (Bob) Nichol died Friday December 31, 2010 at the Blenheim Community Village, Blenheim at the age of 88. Born in Blenheim son of the late Senior Bruce & Margaret (Ritchie) Nichol. Beloved husband of Amy Eileen (Affleck)(Vosding) Nichol and the late Eleanor (Jaworski) Nichol. Dear father of Frances & Jim Byers, Gananoque; Cathy & Doug Patterson, Kingston; Arthur & Diane Vosding, Chatham; and Vanessa Wass, Chatham. Grandfather of 7 grandchildren. Brother of Margaret Petrie, Mississauga and the late Maymie Samson, Tom Nichol, Jean Porter and G.W. (Wally) Nichol. Robert was a veteran of WWII. He was a longtime member of the Blenheim Rotary Club, a founding member of the Blenheim Community Golf Club, a member of Blenheim United Church and a retired Vice-President of Huron Construction, of which he never really retired. He provided a wealth of information and wisdom and will be dearly missed by all. A Gathering of friends and family to celebrate the life of Robert Nichol will take place at the Blenheim Community Golf Club, Highway #3, Blenheim on Friday January 7, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Robert to a Charity of Choice or a Memorial at the Blenheim Community Golf Club would be appreciated.
