UNIAC, Mary A resident of Chatham, Mary Christena Uniac passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma on Saturday, December 18, 2010. Born in Chatham, daughter of the late Alva & Christena (Shaw) Clapp. Beloved wife and best friend for 56 years to Frank Uniac. Forever missed by her cousin Eleanore & Dr. Thomas Hulland of Guelph, nephew John Clapp of Ottawa, Rita & John Veldboom of Chatham, sister in-laws Shirley Uniac, Diane Uniac, and Connie Uniac all of Stratford. Mary will be deeply missed by neighbours Mike & Betty, Steven, and Megan Peach all of Chatham, and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her two brothers Lloyd Clapp (2005), Blake Clapp (2010), brother-in-laws James Uniac, Kenneth Uniac, Leo Uniac, and Glenn Uniac. Mary graduated from the nursing program at the PGH in 1946 and worked in the medical department at International Harvester for 32 years. Cremation has taken place. Interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery at a later date.
