Obituary of John R. 'Jack' Tedford

Tedford: John R. “Jack”, A resident of Chatham, Jack “Teddy Bear” Tedford passed away after a brief battle with cancer on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance- Chatham Campus at the age of 74. Born and raised in Blenheim, son of the late Samuel and Eliza (Huffman) Tedford. Loving husband of 46 years to Ann (Grocott) Tedford. Dear father of Kevin & Terry Tedford, Sam and Annette Tedford, Michael and Suzanne Tedford. Proud grandfather to Tom, Danny, Matthew, Jessie, Josh, Amanda and Brock. Survived by his sisters Ruth Tedford, Marjorie Burk and her husband Wayne; sister-in-law Madeline Tedford. Jack will also be dearly missed by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Hubert. Jack was a retired employee of International Truck and Engine(Navistar) with over 31 years of service. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #28. Whenever opportunity presented itself, Jack also enjoyed going fishing with family and friends. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Legion service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Monday, November 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. John Anderson officiating. Cremation to follow with interment at a later date. Memorial donations to honour Jack’s life can be made to either the Heart and Stoke Foundation or the Cancer Society, and would be appreciated by the family.
