Obituary of Helen Bye

BYE, Helen Kay A resident of Chatham, and formerly of Nova Scotia, Helen Bye passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance at the age of 73 after fighting cancer for the third time in fifteen years. Born in Nova Scotia to the family of Madeline Way and the late Raymond Scott. Beloved wife to Robert Bye. Survived by her brother Boyd Scott and his wife Linda of Lake Echo, NS, sisters Brenda Babiuk of Thompson, MB, Elaine West of Stewiack, NS, Ruth Thomas of Meaghers Grant, NS, Dawn Way of Porters Lake, NS, sister-in-laws Enid Ripley of Stratford, ON, Wilma Clarke of Stratford, ON, and brother-in-laws Archie Carroll, and William Clarke. Missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Irma, step-father William Way, brother-in-laws Jimmy Thomas, David West, Vic Babiuk, Walt Martin, Byron Ripley, and sister-in-laws June Martin, Edna Bye, and Lois Bye. Helen attended Sprucedale United Church, enjoyed making jewelery, designing patterns for knitting and crocheting including hats for cancer patients. Helen enjoyed reading, travelling whether to China, Europe, or her favourite Bed & Breakfast in Port Stanley. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, ON on Wednesday from 3:00-5:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Sprucedale United Church at 11:00 a.m. with Pat Miliken officiating.
