Obituary of Francis Allemeersch

ALLEMEERSCH: Francis - On Friday, October 8, 2010, after a long and valiant battle with his health, Francis Allemeersch went to the loving arms of his Lord and Saviour in his 83rd year. Sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Bertha (Dejonghe), his loving daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and Max Hoffman of Springfield, Ontario, Yvonne and Gord Woods of Bothwell, Ontario, Linda and Dennis Galbraith of Nairn, Ontario and his only son Francis Jr. of Chatham. Also deeply loved and sadly missed by grandchildren, Sylvia Hoffman, Tim, Liza and Jennifer Woods, Jessica and Jeffery Galbraith and great-grandson Austin. Francis is survived by sister-in-law Mary Allemeeersch, and Adolf Kucera, Firmin and Diane Dejonghe, Marie and Joe Korpan, Jeannie Havens and Anna and Jack Ternoey. He was predeceased by his parents, Alidor and Pharilde Allemeersch, brothers, Ben, Harry, Jerry, Camiel Allemeersch and sisters Margaret Deman, Madeline Lievens, Mary Mackelberghe, Martha Chervany and cousin Raymond Laevens. Francis was a favourite uncle of many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and always had a joke or funny story to tell. Francis worked for many years at the Ridgetown College of Agricultural Technology (University of Guelph).He had many friends at The Village in Ridgetown and was an active member to St. Michael’s Parish in Ridgetown, and served on the Catholic Separate School Board and the St. Michael’s PTA. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home 76 Main St East Ridgetown on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A funeral mass celebrating Francis’ life will take place on Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Ridgetown. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
