GIFFIN: Gerald. A resident of R.R.#4 Blenheim, Gerald Giffin passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in his 88th year. Born in London, son of the late Leonard and Edna (Rumble) Giffin. Beloved husband of the late Marion (Jackson) Giffin (1993), and the late Jane (Allely) Giffin (2008). Dear father of Ruth Anne McClelland and her husband Burton of Peterborough, and Donald Giffin and his wife Jean of R.R.#4 Blenheim. Grandfather of David, Beth, Sheila (Jason Yee), Janice, Jennifer, Diane Shirley (Adrian Rivard), and predeceased by grand-daughter Michelle Giffin (1982). Great-grandfather of Chesney. Brother of Lyle and Lorna Giffin of R.R.#4 Blenheim, and the late Clare Giffin (2008) and his wife Florence of Rondeau Park. Gerald will also be remembered by Jane’s children and grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Gerald farmed all of his life in Harwich Township, where he also served as Deputy Reeve and Councillor for many years. He was a member of Guilds United Church and Blenheim United Church, where he served on many Boards. He loved square dancing, and trips to Florida. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Friday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Donations to Blenheim United Church or the Brain Injury Association of Chatham-Kent would be appreciated.
