Obituary of Maddy Geroux

Geroux; Helena Johanna Wilhelmina (Maddy). A former resident of Ridgetown, Maddy Geroux passed away at the Riverview Gardens on Monday September 20, 2010 three days short of her 90th birthday. Born in the Netherlands, daughter of the late Helena (Marechal) and Joanes Geers. Beloved wife of the late A. Arthur Geroux (1999). Dear mother of Arthur and his wife Susan Geroux of Ridgetown, Roy Geroux and his wife Sharon Korhenon of Calgary, Angela Verleye of Blenheim,Martin and Emily Geroux of Highgate and the late Yvonne Geroux (1965) and Valerie Feeney (2001). Predeceased by a son-in-law William Verleye (1999). She is survived by 11 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren. A brother Jack Geers and a sister Cornelia Konings predeceased her in the Netherlands. Maddy was a retired Ridgetown librarian and a parishioner of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass from St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Ridgetown at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday September 23, 2010. Interment St Michael’s Cemetery, Howard Twsp. Parish prayers at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Donations to the Chatham-Kent Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Society or the charity of choice appreciated.
