Crowston: Clarence William. Heaven has welcomed its newest angel. The family of Clarence William Crowston, 77, of Chatham sadly announce the passing of our husband, father, papa and friend. Clarence passed away peacefully at home on July 28, 2010 surrounded by his family. Born in Bruce County son of the late Clara (MacGillvary) & John Crowston. Beloved husband of Jean (Shoemaker) Crowston for 51 years. Fondly remembered and much loved father of Dale Crowston, and Debbie (Ron) Newcombe. Papa was appreciated and adored by grandchildren Sgt. Bryan Crowston, C.D. and wife Sheri; Spencer Newcombe, Breanna Newcombe and great granddaughter Lily Crowston. Companion of man’s best friend Scooter. Survived by sisters Lois (George) Taylor, Myrtle (Orland) Irwin and sister-in-law Mona Crowston. Predeceased by sister Cecilia (Ivan) Laidlaw, Marlow (Mary) Crowston, and Bud Crowston. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Clarence retired from International in 1986 allowing him time to enjoy family and friends, camping and travelling coast to coast. In keeping with Clarence’s wishes Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home , 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Wednesday August 4, 2010 from 3:00-5:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Private Family graveside service will be conducted at a later date in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Thank you to the healthcare professionals at London Regional Cancer Centre, CCAC, VON and the medicine floor staff at CKHA.
