Obituary of Earl Edward Evans

Evans: Earl Edward, A resident of Grand Bend and formerly of Chatham, Earl Evans passed away at Riverview Gardens in Chatham on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the age of 83. Born in Harwich Township, son of the late William and Agnes (nee Walkinghood) Evans. Beloved husband of the late Bernice M. Evans (nee Montague) (2006). Dear father of Wayne and Nell Evans of Bothwell, Sandy and Roger Drouillard of LaSalle, Diane and Tom Crawford of Grand Cayman. Proud grandfather of Lisa Evans, Jason Evans, Nikki Meloche, Ryan Drouillard, Adam Drouillard, Chrissie Schonewille, Kim Henke and 12 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Norman and Edith Evans of Thamesville, George & Ethel Evans of Ridgetown, Roy and Judy Evans also of Ridgetown. Earl is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Jack and Wayne. Earl was a former Merchant Marine and was a retired Engineer, working with many Food Production companies over the years, retiring from the H.J. Heinz Co. After retiring, Earl enjoyed travelling with Bernice. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service to be held in the Funeral Home on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Memorial donations to honour Earl’s life can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or the O.S.P.C.A, and would be appreciated by the family.
