Obituary of William Dennis

DENNIS: William R. (Bill). A resident of Ridgetown, William (Bill) Dennis passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 12, 2010 at the age of 58. Born in Toronto, dear son of Mrs. Jessie (Hunter) Dennis of Woodstock and the late Norman F. Dennis Sr. (1973). Beloved husband of Marion (Minshall) Dennis since 1973. Loving father of Jennifer Dennis (Anthony Acerra) of Brantford, and Brianne Dennis-McMullen and her husband Matt of Brantford. Grandfather of Chloe Acerra. Brother of Gary and Dawn Dennis of Brantford and the late Ronald Dennis (1943), and Norman Dennis (2005) and his wife Barb of Woodstock. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Bill was an Officer with the O.P.P. for 31 years and served in the communities of Port Credit, Ridgetown, Blenheim, and Chatham until his retirement in 2006. He was very devoted to the O.P.P., and served as a representative of the Colour Guard Party, even after his retirement. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #243 Ridgetown and the "Ridgetown Tim Hortons Club". Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow with interment in Morpeth Cemetery.
