Obituary of J. Blake Clapp

Clapp: J. Blake, A resident of Mitchell’s Bay, John Blake Clapp passed away on July 7, 2010 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance- Sydenham Campus at the age of 87. Born in Chatham, son of the late Alva and Christena (nee Shaw) Clapp. Cherished husband to the late Betty (nee Medland) Clapp (1985). Dear father of John B. and Joyce (Reeves) Clapp of Ottawa. Brother of Mary Uniac and her husband Frank of Chatham. Predeceased by his brother Lloyd Clapp. Before his retirement, Blake was Territory Manager for J.I. Case Company. He had also owned and operated Blake Clapp Farm Equipment. Blake was a veteran of the Second World War. He served with the Royal Canadian Navy aboard the HMCS Prince Robert in the European Theatre of battle. Cremation is to take place with a family graveside service at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Memorial donations to honour Blake’s life can be made to the Alzheimer Society or the charity of your choice, and would be appreciated by the family. McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street.
