Obituary of Ronald Thomas Robertson

ROBERTSON: Ronald Thomas, A resident of Chatham, Ron Robertson passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus at the age of 77. Born in St. Thomas, son of the late Thomas and Velma (nee Baker) Robertson. Cherished husband of Sylvia (nee Ingrey) Robertson. Dear father to Wendy Lynn (Richard) of Chatham, Judy Wilken (Rick) of Erie Beach, Debra Rock (George) of Dresden, and Tom Robertson (Ellen) of Chatham. Proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dear brother to Shirley Ward (Don) of Collingwood. Ron was a Supervisor with Union Gas Co., retiring in 1988. He was an active member of St. Paul’s Congregational Church where he sang in its choir, was a member of its Men’s Club and was the coordinator of its Janitorial services. Ron was also a member of the Kent County Seniors Golf League. Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham (519) 351-2040 on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at St. Paul’s Congregation Church, 450 Park Ave. W. Chatham after 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service to celebrate Ron’s life at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. Margaret Moriyama officiating. Interment to take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, London, Ontario. Memorial donations to honour Ron’s life can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation and would be appreciated by the family.
