Obituary of Michael 'Mike' McIntyre

McINTYRE: Michael John A resident of Chatham, Mike McIntyre died, on Friday, May 7, 2010, at Detroit Receiving Hospital, at the age of 57, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Chatham, loving son of Jack & Lorraine (Mickle) McIntyre of Chatham. Beloved husband of Rhona Stewart. Dear father of Michael McIntyre Jr. of Chatham, Lauren & Jeremy Dauphin of Hanover, James Leystra of Sarnia, and Jayme & Andrew Barnes of Seaforth. Proud grandfather of Bryton and Noah Barnes. Mike will be remembered by his sister Sandy & Barry VanBiesbrouck of Sleepy Hollow and their sons Josh and Dane. He is survived by his extended family and many friends. Mike was a 32 year C.A.W. member and retiree of International Truck & Engine where he will be forever remembered by his friends and coworkers. He was a kind and gentle man, with a dry sense of humour, who was proud and supportive of his family. A Celebration of Mike’s life will be held at 10:00a.m. on Saturday May 15, 2010, at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham. Friends are invited to gather at the C.A.W. Hall, following the service, for a time of fellowship and remembrance. Cremation has taken place with a private family interment to be held at a later date.
