Obituary of John J. Field

Field: John Joseph (Jack), A resident of Ridgetown, Jack Field passed away at the London Health Sciences Centre, University Campus on May 5, 2010. Born in Chatham, son of the late Percy and Winnifred (Taggart) Field. Beloved husband of Helen (Hills) Field. Predeceased by his first wife Isobel (Spear) Field (1977) and his mother-in-law Margaret Jane Spear. Dear father to Jane and Grant Inglis and their children John, Tiffany and David. Predeceased by his daughter Susan (1985). Step-father to Vaughn and Darlene Simpson, Pamela Yeoman, Stan and Laureen Simpson, Brent and Mary Simpson and Randy and Paula Simpson. Grandfather to many step-grandchildren. Brother of Dorothy Gilbert and predeceased by Gertrude Baker, Leo Field, Genevieve Labadie, Gerald Field, Eugene Field, Raymond Field, Margaret Field, Charles Field, Carl Field, Ronald Field, Pauline Knights and Don Field. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was a Signal Supervisor with the CSX, Chesapeake Railway, former Commissioner of the Ridgetown P.U.C. and a member of the Achom Shrine Club for 50 years. Also Past President of the Ridgetown Golf and Country Club and long time board member. He donated many volunteer hours to the cause of disabled children. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Father Martin Johnston officiating. Donations to the Kiwanis Club of Ridgetown or Pradar-Willi Syndrome Association of Ontario would be appreciated.
