NORMANDIN: Simone Martha (nee Van Vleirberghe) - Born in Chatham, November 20, 1939, Simone Normandin passed away on Friday, April 30th, 2010 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus. Loving wife of Maurice Normandin for 52 years. Daughter of the late Maria and Edmond Van Vleirberghe. Simone was a loving mother and was predeceased by her son Leo Normandin (1993). Dearly missed by her daughter Denise Charlton and her husband Albert. Proud grandmother of Melissa McNear (Colin), Teresa Shaw (Todd), Dennis Charlton and Cindy Charlton. Predeceased by infant granddaughter Lisa Normandin. She also had four great-grandchildren. Simone is survived by her daughter-in-law Susan Normandin and her sister-in-law Lois Van Vleirberghe. Predeceased by her brother Walter Van Vleirberghe. Simone worked for CIBC for 22 years before retiring in 1994. She volunteered at the Active Lifestyle Centre, loved to play cards and enjoyed time with family and friends. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Parish prayers to be held on Monday at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculée Conception Catholic Church, 24156 Winter Line Rd, Pain Court, on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Eugene Roy celebrant. Interment Immaculée Conception Cemetery. Donations made in memory of Simone to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Lung Association and the Canadian Cancer Society are appreciated by the family.
