VERBEEM: Adrienne Leona (nee Selis) A resident of Chatham, Adrienne Verbeem died peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Riverview Gardens, in Chatham, on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the age of 88. Born in Stekene, Belgium in 1921, daughter of the late Daniel (1956) and Leonie (1948) Selis, Adrienne was the last surviving member of her family, predeceased by brothers Leo (2000) and Albert (1993), and by sisters Paula (2001) and Bertha (2008). Dearly loved wife of Gilles Verbeem for over 66 years. Beloved mother of four daughters and their spouses: Janet & Bev Doyle, Julie & Gary Hendsbee, Paula Brady, and Beth & Marc Caron. Adrienne is also survived and missed by her grandchildren Diana Simms, Nicole (John) Snyder, Tim Hendsbee, Christine (Josh) Krogman, Shawn (Denise) Brady, Jeff (Hailey) Caron, and Sister Bernadette Caron; and her great grandchildren Ceildih and Taylor Simms, Tamara, Jonathon and Logan Snyder, Carley Hendsbee, Eva Krogman, and Trevor, Alyssa and Joel Caron. Adrienne is also remembered by her sisters in–law and her many nieces and nephews. The Verbeem family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Sunday, May 2, 2010 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. with parish prayers at 6:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2010, at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Chatham, with Fr. Daniel Bombardier celebrant. Interment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that consideration be given to donations to the Alzheimer Society, the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of one’s choice.
