Obituary of Philip Joseph Kearns

KEARNS: Philip Joseph - A resident of Chatham, Philip Kearns passed away at the London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital, London with family by his side on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at the age of 71. Philip was the son of the late Patrick and Anna (Gauthier) Kearns. Survived by his loving and devoted wife Mary Kearns (nee Dorner). Proud father of Julie Miller (Dan Putnam) of Chatham, Patrick Kearns (Lynn Roberts) of Airdrie, Alberta, Kathy Kearns (Jeff Denomy) of Chatham and Dan Kearns (Amanda Parriag) of Ottawa. Loving grandfather of Jeffrey, Justin, Keely, Clarke, Abby, Naya, Sawyer, Mackenzie, Meghan and Christopher. Survived by his sisters and brothers, Patricia Windrim of London, Margaret Munce (Cliff) of Lambeth, Helen Ousterhout (Gary) of Ridgetown, Kathryn Bouffard of Sarnia, Peter Kearns (Bonnie) of Sarnia, John Kearns (Maire) of Brampton and Jim Kearns (Sam) of Dresden. Philip had served as an O.P.P. officer of the Chatham-Kent detachment for 30 years. He volunteered his time as a driver for both Meals on Wheels and the Canadian Cancer Society. Phil loved playing cards and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers to be held Friday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St.Ursula’s Roman Catholic Church, 205 Tweedsmuir Ave W., Chatham on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Fr.
