Obituary of Orland Field

FIELD, Orland, a resident of Chatham, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham, at the age of 85. Born in Chalk River, Ontario, son of the late Guy & Annie (McKay) Field. Beloved husband of 59 years of the late Dorothy (Monsour) Field of Mattawa, Ontario. Dear father of Donna and her husband Dr. Bruce Warwick, Chatham, and special daughter Lyn Wells, Ottawa. Grandfather of Devon and Katie, his most prized reason to live. Brother of Lucreta Law in Pembroke, and predeceased by siblings Lois, Russell, Basil, Donella, Hilda, Betty, Bernice, Grace, and Francis. Brother-in-law of Nick Monsour, Sarnia, Peter Graham, Montreal, Georgette and Lester Law, London, and many nieces and nephews. Orland served in the Air Force during WWII and was stationed in Manitoba, Winnipeg, Nova Scotia, and Labrador. He was a respected employee of the Chatham Hydro having retired in 1985. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Order, Mocha Shrine Club, and an active founding member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church. His passion was golf, and he was a long time member of the Indian Creek Country Club and the Chatham Hydro League. The family would like to thank all those who helped him at the Chatham Retirement Resort and the 3rd Floor Nurses on the Continuing Care Ward in Chatham. Please join the family as they receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Masonic Lodge Service Wednesday at 6:45p.m. Funeral Service will follow on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.
