BURLEIGH: Harry Ainsworth. Has gone to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 7, 2010 surrounded by his family at home at the age of 88. Born in Saskatchewan, he is the son of the late Charles & Muriel (Ainsworth) Burleigh. Beloved husband of 66 years to Jean (Barnwell). Dear father to Pat Weese of Chatham, Barb (Rick) Nisbet of Chatham, Dianne Twigg of Chatham and Linda ( Chuck) Painter of Sault Ste Marie. Proud grandfather to Greg (Tricia) Weese, Mark (Shannon) Weese, Joe Weese, Lori (Michael) Balfoort, Lisa Heinbuck, Leigh Ann Twigg, Derek Twigg, Michelle Hamelin, Michael (Emma) Hamelin, Matthew Hamelin and Melanie (Scott) Edmunds-Baylis. Cherished by 16 great-grandchildren. Dearly missed by his sister Hilda Smyth, sister-in-law Lillian Burleigh and brother-in-law John Watt. Predeceased by his sisters, Madeline (1942), Hattie (Roy) Church (1996), Alice Watt (2007), and brother Ivan Burleigh (1994). Harry was the former owner of G & H Tire and Service. He was a member of the Salvation Army, Chatham Citadel. Harry loved to go camping, boating and fishing. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. A celebration of Harry’s life to take place at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m with Capt. Andrew Watkinson officiating. Interment to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery. Memorial donations to honour Harry’s life can be made to the Salvation Army and would be appreciated by the family.
