Martens; Joseph Cyriel, a resident of R.R. #2, Ridgetown. Joseph C. Martens died Thursday January 28, 2010 at Chatham at the age of 84. Born in Koewacht, Holland son of the late Theophile & Maria (Otjes) Martens. Beloved husband of Caroline Marie (DeCock) Martens. Dear father of Madeline (Bill) Vandeweghe, Blenheim; Joanne (Henk) deWit, Muirkirk; Rosalie (Dale) Markham, London; Rene (Sue) Martens, Ridgetown; Charles Martens, Blind River; Peter (Barb) Martens, Ridgetown; Christine (Terry) Casier, Blenheim; Lorraine (Dave) McIntosh, Chatham; Agnes (Cory) Bloxham, Chatham; and Philip Martens, Chatham. Brother of Sister Thecla, London; Mary Moir, Ilderton; and the late Rosalie Landuyt and infant Rene Martens. Also survived by 30 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 76 Main St., E., Ridgetown on Sunday January 31, 2010 from 2:00-4:30 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers and a Knights of Columbus Service will be offered at the Funeral Home on Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Ridgetown with Fr. Greg Mulligan celebrant. Interment St. Michael’s Cemetery, Howard Township. Donations in memory of Joseph to the Arthritis Society or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
