Obituary of Velma 'Val' Kean

Kean: Velma “Val” (nee Narroway) A resident of Chatham and formerly of Windsor, Val Kean passed away at Fairfield Park in Wallaceburg on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the age of 83. Born in Windsor, she is the daughter of the late Albert and Emily (Cole) Narroway. Wife of the late Douglas C. Kean (1980). Dear mother to John Kean and Mary Surita, Sharon Kean and Walter Tomaszewski, Doug Kean and Irma O’Rourke, Debbie and Stephen Raymondo all of Chatham. Proud grandmother to 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her sister Joyce East (2003). Val’s memory will live on in all the friends she made at the Moose Lodge, Royal Canadian Legion Branch #28 and the Chatham Senior’s Centre. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home- 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Saturday, January 16, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service to celebrate Val’s life at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens, Windsor at a later date. Memorial donations to honour Val’s life can be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation and would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
