Obituary of Henry George Kearns

Kearns: Henry George, a resident of R.R. #9, Chatham. Henry Kearns died Sunday December 20, 2009 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus at the age of 85. Born in Fletcher, Ontario son of the late Thomas Edward & Margaret (Jubenville) Kearns. Beloved husband of 64 years to Rosemary Joan (Sheppard) Kearns. Dear father of Nancy & Brian Hind, Petrolia; Susan & Rolfe McEwan, Kelona, B.C. and the late Peter Kearns (1999). Father-in-law of Maryanne Kearns, R.R. #9, Chatham. Grandfather of Candace & T.J. Dersch; Courtney & Chad Harvey; Katy Hind; Bryce & Lanna McEwan; Meagan McEwan; Travis McEwan; Jeremiah Kearns and Christopher & Crystal Kearns. Great grandfather of Carter, Hudson, Logan, Lauren & Dustin. Brother of Ursula Tasker, Thamesville; Eleanor Leverton, Thamesville and the late Aileen Vince; Donna Jean Cook; Anthony Kearns and Raymond Kearns. Brother-in-law of Vada Kearns, Chatham. Mr. Kearns served with the Air Force in WW II from 1942-1946, He worked at International for 38 years before his retirement in 1981 and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #11891. Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Wednesday December 23, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Knights of Columbus will conduct a Memorial Service at the Funeral Home on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 5425 Tecumseh Line, R.R. #2 Tilbury on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Michael O’Brien celebrant. Interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Special thanks to Bernadette and Cindy.
