PIETERS: Betty Jean (nee Taylor)- A resident of Chatham, Betty Jean Pieters passed away at Riverview Gardens Nursing Home on Friday, December 18, 2009 at the age of 84. Born in Wallaceburg to her late parents William & Eleanor Taylor. Beloved wife of 58 years to the late Donald Pieters (2008). Loving mother of Bonnie Barnes (Gord Morrison) of Chatham, Marlene Publicover (Steve) of Guelph and Ruth Vanhumbeck of Chatham. Proud grandmother of Kellie Barnes, Megan Freeman, Deacon Publicover, Jocelyn Publicover, Brittany Vanhumbeck and Katie Vanhumbeck. Survived by her sister Ilene Watson and her brother Joe Taylor (Lenore), both of Wallaceburg. Predeceased by two brothers and four sisters. Betty was a member of the Active Lifestyle Centre and attended St Paul’s Congregational Church. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St Clair Street, Chatham, on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Words of Remembrance will be expressed at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 7:45 p.m. Cremation to follow with a family service to take place at a later date.
