Obituary of M. Ray Harrison

HARRISON: M. Ray. A resident of Blenheim, Ray Harrison passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance –Chatham Campus on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Jean (McDougall) Harrison. Father of Michael and Lynn Harrison, Joseph and Nancy Harrison of Toronto, David and Laurie Harrison of Windsor. Grandfather of Rebecca, Christopher, and Jessica. Brother of Shirley Durr of Parkhill, Erma and Murray Gibbs of Parkhill. Brother-in-law of Catherine Harrison of Ilderton, Doug and Marjorie McDougall of Ingersoll, Marie Harrison of London. Predeceased by his brother Lyle, Peter, Laverne and his wife Margaret as well as his brother-in-law James Peterson and his wife Lois. Ray was a veteran of the Second World War. He served his country with the RCAF as a tail gunner. Following his military service he was a Bank Manager with CIBC working in offices in Ancaster, Milton, Blenheim, Sudbury and finally in Mitchell when he retired in 1984. Ray was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #185- Blenheim as well as the Kent Masonic Lodge #274, Scottish Rite and the Mocha Shrine Club. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Friday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Legion Memorial Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday at 7:00 p.m. A Masonic Lodge Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Bill Terris officiating. Cremation to follow with interment at Carlisle Cemetery at a later date.
