Obituary of Marian Langmaid

LANGMAID: Marian (nee Snell) - A resident of Chatham, and formerly of Windsor, Marian Langmaid passed away peacefully with family by her side at Copper Terrace Nursing Home on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Barry Langmaid (1998). Loving mother of Sue Jeffrey (David) of Tecumseh and Graeme Langmaid (Cathy) of Chatham. Proud grandmother of Jocelyn Jeffrey of Toronto, Andrew Jeffrey of Toronto, Alex Langmaid (Candice) of Chatham and Julia Langmaid of Chatham. Great-grandmother of Sadie Langmaid. Survived by her sister Ruth Keys of London and her brother Grant Snell of Clinton. Predeceased by her siblings Laura Forbes, Harry Snell and Norma Boyce. Marian graduated in 1939 from the University of Western Ontario with a degree in Classical Studies. She taught Latin at Forster Collegiate in Windsor for many years. Marian was an avid bridge player and was involved with the C.F.U.W., the Questors and the Friends of Willistead. She was a longtime member of Chalmers United Church and worked with Meals on Wheels for several years.
