Obituary of Ronald E. Pitblado

Pitblado, Dr. Ronald E., a resident of Chatham and formerly Ridgetown. Dr. Ronald E. Pitblado passed peacefully on November 11, 2009 at the age of 63 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham. After a courageous battle with leukemia, he is now able to rest in peace knowing that he was deeply loved, and is being welcomed into heaven by the open arms of his dear parents the late Jack and Mabel (Foster) Pitblado. He will be forever missed by his loving wife Diane (Cass) Pitblado; sons Dave Pitblado (Leia Patzernuk) of Burlington and Doug Pitblado (Kathy Kovacs-Pitblado), Chatham; granddaughter Georgia Pitblado; brother Roger (Jane) Pitblado, Sudbury; sister Judith (Philip) McCavour, Lorneville, N.B.; and mother-in-law Beatrice (Tom-predeceased) Cass, St. Catharines. Ron was a graduate of the University of Guelph, a long time professor, researcher and administrator of the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus. He will be remembered fondly in the hearts of his friends and relatives. Friends are welcome to celebrate his life at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Sunday, November 15, 2009 from 1:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Private Family Service will be held with cremation to follow and interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham at a later date. Donations in memory of Ron to the Ridgetown Campus Agri-Food Foundation (University of Guelph) or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated by his family.
