Obituary of Charles Ashby

Ashby, Charles Arthur, a resident of Chatham. Charles Ashby passed away on Tuesday November 10, 2009 at his residence at the age of 74 after a 10 year battle with cancer. Survived by his loving wife Saundra (Taylor) Ashby; daughters April Ann Ashby (Jamie Reaume); and Michelle Lee Ashby; his mother Grace Moor; & Step-mother Dorothy Ashby; sisters Betty Lindsay (Steward Ashby), Chatham; and Sandra Stead (Gary), London. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Gene Ashby (1992) and his step-father Jack Moor (Retired Firechief). Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Thursday November 12, 2009 from 2:00-4:30 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Legion & Naval Memorial Services will be held on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday at 1:30 p.m. with Dorothy Scott officiating. Cremation with Interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Charles to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
