GRIFFITHS: Charles. A resident of Blenheim, Charles Griffiths passed away at the Blenheim Community Village on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at the age of 101. Born in Cheshire, England, son of the late Jack and Jane (McGinley) Griffiths. Beloved husband of the late Edith May Waring, and the late Beulah McDowell Jacobs. Dear father of Charles and Margaret Griffiths of Windsor, John and Paula Griffiths of Tecumseh, David and Linda Griffiths of Breckin, and the late Audrey Meacock (1993). Father-in-law of Rev. Ron Meacock and wife Madeline of Norwood. Grandfather of 8 and great-grandfather of 5. Brother of the late John, Arthur, James, Walter, Ernest, Septimus, Benjamin, Edward, Mary, and Ann. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Charles served for 21 years with the Royal Marines and was a Veteran of WWII. He joined the Royal Marines Forces Volunteer Reserve in 1953 until his retirement. He was a founding member of the Royal Marines Association. Charles came to Blenheim in 1975 and was a member of Trinity Anglican Church where he had served in the choir and on the Board. He was also a member of the Blenheim Senior's Centre, Kent Glee Club, and the Blenheim Golf Club. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Thursday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Legion Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 59 Ellen Street, Blenheim on Friday, November 13 at 1:30 p.m. with The Rev. David Fuller officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #185 Blenheim would be appreciated.
