Obituary of Frederick Benjamin Sargent

Sargent: a resident of Chatham. Frederick (Sarge) Benjamin Sargent died Wednesday October 18, 2006 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance at the age of 92. Born in Toronto, Ontario son of the late Frederick and Ellen (Dickson) Sargent. Beloved husband of the late Shirley Sargent (2006). Dear father of Nancy and Harry Kuipers, Blenheim and Barbara Sargent, Chatham. Grandfather of Ellen & Glen Desrosiers; Laurie & Butch Stothart; Doug & Angela Kuipers; Neil Kuipers; Gail & Jim Baxter; Paul & Kim Kuipers; Patti & Bob Russello; Mike Kuipers and Barbara & Trevor Brady. Great Grandfather of 19 and Great Great Grandfather of 16. Predeceased by great grandson Joey Russello (1983). Brother of William Longney, Blenheim and the late Gray Longney. Brother-in-law of the late Dorothy Lee and Robert Lee. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Sarge was a life member of Parthenon Lodge #267 A.F. & A.M. Chatham, a member of First Presbyterian Church and a Veteren of World War II. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Thursday October 19, 2006 from 2:00 - 4:30 & 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Masonic Lodge Service will be conducted on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday October 20, 2006 from the Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Maroney and Rev. Evelyn Carpenter officiating. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations made by cheque to the Canadian Cancer Society, The Parkinson Foundation or the First Presbyterian Church Building fund appreciated.
