It is with sadness we announce that our mother, Eileen Mary Gordon (nee Stokes), passed away peacefully on February 5, 2017. Eileen was a resident of Kenmuir Farm for the greater part of her life. She was born on August 17, 1928, the daughter of the late Marie and Roy Stokes. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Kenneth (2009) and will be remembered lovingly by her children, Mary Ann Gordon of Sarnia, and David Gordon of R.R. # 1, Chatham. Eileen is predeceased by her brother, Bill Stokes, sisters-in-law Ruby Walden, Leta and Donna Gordon as well as brothers-in-law Doug and Don Gordon. She will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Eileen was a registered nurse, graduating from St. Joseph’s Hospital, Chatham in the class of 1951. She took her job very seriously and loved her work to the benefit of the patients she served. Eileen was most at home in the hospital setting and made loyal life-long friends there. Many will remember her cream puffs, shortbread, and Christmas pudding. She loved the Sisters of St. Joseph’s Order (London and Chatham), her Roman Catholic faith, her family and friends. A heart-felt thank you goes to Glen Gordon and the staff of Eden Villa for their compassionate care.
