TRAVIS: Cynthia. A resident of Chatham, Cynthia Travis died peacefully at Meadowpark Nursing Home on Friday November 29, 2013. She was born in Jamaica, 81 years ago on April 19, 1932. Beloved daughter of the late Francis & Susanne (Simmons) Legge, and step-daughter of the late Amy Carmen (Ferguson) Legge. Beloved wife of the late Leonard Travis (2010). Loving mother of Gary D. Travis of Chatham, and the late Leonard D. Travis. Fondly remembered by her daughter-in-law Angie, and grandchildren Jacob, Vincent, and Thomas. Dear sister of Francis Legge of Ottawa (his late wife Jean) and the late Cyril Legge (his wife Georgina of Brampton). Dear aunt of Charles, Mary, Frances, and their families. Cynthia was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Chatham. She had a life long love of music, and was a member of her church choir, and the Seniors Centre Choir for many years. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday from 2:00-5:00 p.m in the afternoon. The Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Church, 135 King Street East, Chatham on Tuesday December 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Albert Lambkin officiating. Visitation will take place at the Church from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
