Obituary of Mildred Jaques

Jaques, Mildred, a resident of Chatham. Mildred Jaques died Saturday October 19, 2013 at the Copper Terrace Long Term Care Facility, Chatham at the age of 91. Born in Regina Saskatchewan, daughter of the late Mike & Dana (Donna) Bachwansky. Beloved wife of the late Thomas (Tom) Jaques (2006). She will be dearly missed by children Carol of Toronto, Brian of Ontario and Douglas of Alberta. Also survived by one sister Agnes and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Mildred is predeceased by sisters Ruby, Olga, Pauline, Polly, Bessie, Dorothy, brother-in-law Ernest and brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law George & Ina Jaques & Robert and Marie Jaques. Mildred & Tom lived in Windsor before moving to Chatham in 1948. She was a stay-at-home mother for a number of years. Later she worked in retail (Eaton’s, Maple City Bakery & the Vanitiee Shop) for many years. Mildred enjoyed every minute dealing with the public. Mildred & Tom were two of the founding members of Sprucedale United Church (1955). They were both involved with the Chatham Senior Maroons for many years. Mildred’s family would like to sincerely thank all the staff at Copper Terrace for their dedication and compassionate care for Mildred these past 10 years. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Thursday October 24, 2013 from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Pat Pickle officiating. Interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Kidney Foundation.
