HOLTHOF: Effie Elizabeth Holthof (Israels) Born in Chatham on June 11, 1934, passed away at home in Chatham on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Treasured wife and beloved soul mate of George W. Holthof Sr. for 60 years. God blessed them with 2 sons and 3 daughters; Effie and Dan Faubert of St. Catharines, Rev. George and Tena Holthof of Fort McMurray, AB, Dianne and Tom Toma of Chatham, Pamela and Stacy McAndrews of St. Catharines, and Edward and Jennifer Holthof of Winston-Salem, N.C. 16 dearly loved grandchildren and their spouses and 11 beloved great-grandchildren. Effie is the daughter of the late John Israels Sr. and Gesina Cornelia Lubsen. Sister of Richard (Judy) Israels, Ray (Harriet) Israels, Joan (Gerald) Greydanus, Rita (Howard) Ramsdale, and Juliana (Don) Crowe. Also survived by brother-in-law Charles Slade, her dearly loved cousin Jean Newcombe, many dear nieces, nephews, and much loved friends. Predeceased by sisters Elsie Janse and Florence Slade, and brothers, Joe, Harry, Jack, and George. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at First Christian Reformed Church, 25 Tweedsmuir Ave. E., Chatham on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jack Kerkhof officiating. Interment at Pardoville-Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family would appreciate donations to the Back To God Ministries International or World Renew. "Therefore, there is now no condemnation, for those who are in Christ Jesus" - Romans 8:1. "Praise the Lord, O my soul" - Psalm 103:22.
