Obituary of Wilma Eloise Polowick

POLOWICK: Wilma Eloise (nee Ronson)- Passed Monday, September 2, 2013 peacefully, surrounded by family and with faith, after a short but valiant struggle with cancer. Wilma was born in Raleigh Township and was the daughter of the late George and Mary Ronson. Loving wife of 67 years to John Polowick. Wonderful mother to 4 children, Philip (Linda) Polowick, Eloise (David) Williscroft, Sharon (Harold) Pfaff, and Mary Anne (Jim) Patterson. Grandmother to 8 grandchildren, Mary Lynn Pickering (Jamie), Angela Frazee (Adam), Jeremy Pfaff (Cara), Allison Pfaff (Tim), Jonathan Polowick (Heather), Jared Polowick (Michelle), Jacquelyn Patterson and Kathryn Patterson. Great-grandmother to 5 great-grandchildren; Ryan, Josh, Aidan, Alexander and Orion. Sister to Lorena Henderson and June Stewart. Predeceased by her siblings, Eva Ronson, Grace Arnold, Hazel Garrod, Lorna Vickery, George “Burton” Ronson, and Oliveen Ship. She cherished her family and loved spending time with them. Very successful careers in selling Tupperware and Real Estate, as well as teaching piano and organ. Wilma had many special talents. She was an avid musician, achieving her grade 9 in piano and volunteered her time accompanying her husband playing at community events such as Cherry Fest. She played organ at the Trinity Anglican Church for many years. She was a talented artist and many paintings can be found displayed in her and her family’s homes. She loved to spend winters at her winter residence in Florida. She was a woman full of life and zest- always learning new things and dressing to impress. She was a strong role model to those in her life. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Trinity Anglican Church in Blenheim at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013 with the Rev. David Fuller officiating. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Donations made in memory of Wilma to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
