SALES: Douglas John. A resident of Tilbury and formerly of Blenheim, Douglas Sales passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the age of 69. Born in Blenheim, son of the late Percy and Ellen (Burch) Sales. Beloved husband of Yvonne (Davis) Sales since 1977. Dear father of Jody Sales and his wife Rachael of Tilbury, Kate Arnold of London, Douglas Sales Jr. and his wife Jenny of Peterborough, and Ellen Sales-Hitchock of Chatham. Grandfather of 4. Brother of Margaret and Gordon Want of Blenheim, and the late Jim and Millie Sales, Mary Wickwire, Alvin Sales, and Doris Sales. Brother-in-law of Jack Wickwire of Chatham, Terry and Shirley Davis of Haliburton, Hazel McKay of Tilbury, Gwen Davis of Minden, and Connie Davis of Tilbury. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Douglas retired from Navistar in September 2003 following 30 years of service. He spent his winters with Yvonne in the sunny south, and summers in Canada while touring in their R.V. together over the past 10 years. He will be dearly missed by his special miniature Maltese dogs, Marco, Sassi, and Sammi. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Monday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. David Steadman officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association, or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
