Obituary of Sakiko Moriyama

Moriyama, Sakiko (Jean), a resident of Chatham and formerly of London, ON. Sakiko Moriyama died peacefully at Riverview Gardens, Chatham on Thursday June 6, 2013 at the age of 95. Born in Mission City, B.C., daughter of the late Taichiro & Sumi (Okamoto) Hattori. Beloved wife of the late Toshiyuki “Tash” Moriyama (Dec. 5,2012). Loving mother of Margaret Moriyama, Chatham; Robert John Moriyama, Toronto and Thomas Moriyama, Guelph. Dear sister of Yoshio (Lois) Hattori; Tomio (Joyce) Hattori and the late Haruo Hattori; Masao Hattori; Kimiko Ito; Nobuko Shigehiro; Sakio Hattori (twin); and an infant sister. Sister-in-law of Fumi Tamagi; Kay Moriyama; and Betty Moriyama. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and her “other daughter” Jo Ann (John) Woods. Special thanks to her niece Kate & Harry Nagata, special friend, Julia Bechard, and to the staff of 5E for their compassion, their visits, and their care.” Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham, on Sunday June 9, 2013 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Andrew Hawkins and Rev. Kim Cooper officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery, London.
