KERNOHAN: George C. N. - A resident of Ridgetown, and formerly of R.R. # 2 Blenheim, George Kernohan passed away with his family at his side at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Sunday, February 17, 2013 in his 79th year. Born in London, George was the son of the late Mabel (Williams) Kernohan. Beloved husband of Claire (nee Morris). Loving father of Lynn of Chatham, George and Maria of Rondeau Park, Stephen of Blenheim and Michael of Vancouver, B.C. Predeceased by son-in-law Ron (1981). Proud grandfather of Nicholas, Rhondelle, Ryan, Stacy, Cory, Jamie and Tricia. George was a longtime owner and operator of Sunny Acre Motors and AutoWreckers until retirement. He enjoyed many years cottaging in Port Stanley. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street E., Ridgetown on Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2013 with Rev. Al McIntyre officiating. Interment to follow at Morpeth Cemetery. Donations made in memory of George to the Alzheimer Society or to the Village on the Ridge – Activities Department would be appreciated.
