Obituary of Linda Joanne Rota

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Linda Joanne Rota, loving wife, mother, nana, and great-nana. Linda passed unexpectedly in her home with her husband by her side on October 31st, 2022.

Linda is survived by the love of her life Bruno of 58 years. During that time they were devoted to each other, and raising a family based on good values and strong work ethics in mind. Setting a good example for their children of a strong, loving marriage. Bruno often referred to Linda as his angel.

Also survived by her greatest achievements, her children Mike Rota (Diane), Cindy Devine (Darren), and Tina Lucier (Paul Parent), grandchildren Trevor Devine, Kaitlyn Rota (Masen Kankula), Tiffany Lucier, Nick Rota, Spencer Lucier, Taylor Orvis (Logan), and great-grandchild Alanna.

Pre-deceased by her father Max Lindsay (survived by Louella). Missed by siblings Bruce Lindsay, John Lindsay (Janet), Jamie Lindsay (Michelle), Greg Lindsay, Max Jr. Lindsay, Mary Lindsay (Bill), Tom Lindsay (Sue), late Larry Lindsay.

Pre-deceased by mother Margaret Nichols. Missed by siblings Yvonne Nichols, late Gary Nichols, late Diane Robert, Debbie Ryan, Eddie Ryan, Laurie Ryan-Summerfield.

Also missed by late Carlo Rota (Amelia), late Villi Rota (Josie), late Maria Peruzzo (late Mario), Nevia Dumcius (Ron), Edward Rota (Vivian), late Milana Olic (Nado).

Missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends including special friend Rose Neville.

Linda is a Chatham-Kent resident who worked as a personal support worker for 25 years, as well as a bookkeeper for the family business. She loved cooking, gardening, playing cards, and spending time with family with a strong sense of faith in God. She loved sharing memories and telling stories with loved ones.

Family and friends are welcome to McKinlay Funeral Home in Chatham on Saturday, November 5th from 10am - 1pm. A short private ceremony to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery. 

Please join us for a celebration of life and refreshments to be held at 2pm at 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham.
