Katherine Morrow

Obituary of Katherine Morrow

MORROW, Katherine (McNeil) passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on July 20, 2022, in her 93rd year of life.

Born November 2, 1929, in Chatham, Ontario. Loving wife of the late George Morrow (2014) for 63 years.

Dearly missed by her son Don Morrow and wife Penny of Chatham. Loving Grandma to Nicole and husband Chris Stronks and Scott Morrow.

Special Great Grandma to Charlotte, Emily, Nicholas and Zachary Stronks. Survived by sister-in-law Ruth McNeil of
Chatham and by several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by parents Charles McNeil and Mary Jane (Bob) Widdis, brother Bob (Mabel) McNeil, and twin brother Keith McNeil. Also predeceased by sisters-in-law Margaret (Percy) Smith, Jean (Alex) McGregor, and brother-in-law Andrew (Maisie) Morrow.

In Katherine’s later years, she enjoyed visiting with her neighbour Sue, reading a good novel, and baking. Her famous peanut butter balls, butter tarts, and pies have been enjoyed by many throughout the years. Katherine was always up for any adventure. Alongside Don and Penny, she traveled to the cottage in Grand Bend and dined in many restaurants tasting new foods and drinks even at 92! Thursday lunch dates with her grandson Scott were always the highlight of her week. Phone calls and FaceTime with Nicole and her family kept them close since distance kept them apart. She was always so amazed by technology. Katherine adored her great-grandchildren. She would listen to their stories, watch them play games, share chocolate treats, and was always very encouraging.

As condolences have come in, one thing is consistent. She was the sweetest lady. Katherine always had a smile on her
face. She was kind and gentle and oh so patient! A lovely, beautiful soul who was so proud of her family!

The family would like to thank Dr. Park and Cherylynn Parry for their ongoing friendship and care throughout the years. Also,
a special thank you to Dr. K. McCulloch for her compassionate care.

Cremation has taken place. In lieu of a Funeral Service, a Gathering will be held at the McKinlay Reception Centre, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Friday, August 12, 2022, from 12:00 p.m-2:00 p.m. to celebrate Katherine’s life.
