A resident of Chatham, Bertha Farrelly passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with family at her side on Friday, July 29, 2022 at the age of 95.
Born in Smith Falls, Bertha was the beloved wife of the late Jim Farrelly (1990). Predeceased by her companion Norman Worth (2010).
Loving mother to Cindy Somani (Sadru), Edwin "Wayne" Farrelly (Barb), Patty Anne Stark (Robert) and Rhonda Beath.
Bubba to her grandchildren Dean Colbers (Kim), Shawna Lougheed (Al), Adam Colbers (Crystal), Richard Farrelly (Valerie), Sean Farrelly (Yowanda), Carrie-Lynn Beath, Darlene Tyldsley (Michael), Julie Bechard and great-grandchildren Cody, Kyle, Carson, Devon, Aeryn, Kiera, Eamon, Heidi, Byron, Jorja, Darius, Oliver, Ethan, Olivia and Kevin.
Dear sister to Murva, Verla and Gail.
Special Aunt to Carol Wright-King. Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Bertha was an avid knitter, sewer and gardener and knitted hundreds of hats and scarves for the Salvation Army as well as the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. She loved to travel and to spend time with the local people. Bertha was known for her baking, and would bake for her neighbouring community.
Bertha will be remembered for her wit and smart remarks.
A Celebration of Bertha's life will be held later in the summer.
