Baird, Bernice Ruth (nee Thompson)
A resident of Chatham, Bernice Baird passed away at the Riverview Gardens Nursing Home on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the age of 90.
Born in Wheatley, she was the daughter of the late Portais & Annie (nee Buchan) Thompson.
She is reunited with her late husband, Raymond Baird (1985).
Beloved mother of Gordon Ebden (nee Colleen) of Alberta and the late Kenneth Ebden.
Dear grandmother of Mark Landry (Angie), Michael Landry (Dayna), Sabrina Ebden, Nathan Ebden, & Christopher Ebden.
Great-grandmother of Ella Landry, Walker Landry, Sophie Landry, Cash Landry, Wyatt Arpin and Wyatt Landry.
Sister of Margaret Debrander & William Thompson.
Missed by many nieces & nephews.
Predeceased by her first husband, Graham Ebden (September, 29, 1956).
Special mention to dear nieces, Terry, Della, & Gwen, and dear friend Lisa Ellis.
Bernice retired from Fredrick's Transport as a Bookkeeper & Dispatcher. Previously, she worked with Cedar Springs Hospital, Bell Telephone & International Harvester as a Receptionist. She was a one time President of the Rebecca Lodge. Bernice loved her dogs, she was great at one liners and enjoyed a good game of euchre. Raymond & Bernice were involved with the race horse industry in the Blenheim Area with Vic & Molly Cross. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Family to receive friends on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 10:00 am until a Memorial Service celebrating Bernice's life at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery where she will be buried with her beloved furry friend, Amie.
