Obituary of Pat Durfy
A long-time resident of Harwich Township, Pat Durfy passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, after a life well lived on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at the age of 80.
Pat’s lifelong contributions to her community and the care of others, was equally matched by her love of family and friends. She will long be remembered and missed by those who knew her.
Pat was the daughter of the late George & Gertrude Tuach (nee Middleton).
She was the beloved wife of Ron Durfy for 59 years; loving mother of Deanna (Greg) Roberts; and devoted grand-mother of Matthew Roberts.
Pat is survived by her sisters-in-law Margaret (Wayne) Durfy and RuthAnne (Dave) Vermeulen, Linda (Don) Tuach and brother-in-law Don (Kathy) Speed and many nieces, and nephews.
She is predeceased by her brother Don Tuach, sister Kathy Speed and brother-in-law Wayne Durfy.
Pat grew up in Raleigh Township and Blenheim and remained in the Chatham area throughout her life where she worked at the Bank of Montreal. After retirement, Pat volunteered in her community, enjoyed golf and was always up for lunch/dinner somewhere. She spent winters in Arizona where she also volunteered and warm weather at home on the farm.
Family to receive friends on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 10:00 am until a Service of Pat's life at 12:00 pm at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham. Burial to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
