To the entire Montgomery family we send our condolences. Lee has definitely given his family a legacy that is beyond compare. Although the Private Members Bill has my name on it, it was Lee who spearheaded the work and the words. We spoke often about his personal battle with stray voltage but we also met with many people who experienced similar health and financial issues as a result of stray voltage. His name will stand tall in agricultural history.

Lee had said that my late husband, Gordon, was one of the first reporters to cover the tragic story of the stray voltage. They kept in contact over the years and had a deep, mutual respect. We were pleased to have attended Lee's surprise 80th birthday celebration which seems like only yesterday. We had given him a copy of Gord's brother's farm recollections called "Harvest Dust' and Lee called us the next day to report that he had stayed up all night reading it.
Lee will be remembered for his courage and tenacity in taking up a challenge nobody would ever request. He will be missed.

Our visit was mainly sorting out the family tree for which he was very helpful. He was definitely a man of many talents and passions. He will be greatly missed.

Carrie, Brian, Paul, Laurie and family. So sorry to hear of Lee’s passing. He was always smiling and took the time to stop and talk and usually say something funny. He may have been a small man in stature but he sure made up for it in integrity and tenacity. He stood up for what he believed in and that is so admirable. He will surely be missed.

My fondest memory of your dad was when Rob’s Dad Roy, passed away and Lee called and said “No Argument, I am taking you to the airport in Detroit to pick up Rob” as he was driving thru Wisconsin when I called and said his dad had died. Lee and I reminisced all the way to Detroit , Lee sharing all the mischief he and Roy had got into over the years. By the way , Rob’s middle name was after Lee, according to Lee☺️

My condolences to the Montgomery family. Lee will be remembered by all who met him. He had his own way of touching everyone's life , once he met them. My husband (Doug Clark) and Lee were cousins in the Gosnell clan, and whenever we met Lee, it would be good for at least an hour's visit. Lee didn't leave the stones of life unturned, and he accomplished much.

To the Montgomery family...our deepest, heartfelt condolences on the death of Lee. He will be missed by many in the community. I remember when my brother, Bob, was working at the wine store and every time Lee came in Bob would tell him, with a smile in his voice, to go home.
Well, Lee, you have gone home and are now, once again, with your beloved Dona.

Was well respected in the dairy and farming industry, along with many hockey teams/arenas…..his laugh was well known and I’m sure his sense of humour will be missed by many… his battle with Ontario hydro will always be discussed as he knew he had them…. Sorry to hear of Lee’s passing. He was one Fiesty Farmer!
My father, Bev Clements , helped Lee in the early days to trace the stray current that Lee knew was causing damage.
Dad loved helping in Lee’s crusade, as he believed Lee was right.
Many a supper hour was spent hearing about the latest find and fight.
I’m glad Lee proved his point ,as important as it was.

We are truly saddened to hear of your Dads passing. Your Dad set the example for us all of a hardworking proud Canadian farmer. We purchased the farm on a handshake and he stayed true to his word. A true gentleman. We always enjoyed running into him and hearing what was new. We always knew we’d be awhile! He was always so interested in how our kids were doing and telling us about his kids and grandkids also. We lived beside Grampa and Gramma Payne when we were first married we often visited with your parents when they visited.
