Dear Pat & Family,
We want to express our deepest sympathy for the loss of Dave. Lynn and I considered you and Dave family from our years at Bowling Green. Our years together left everlasting memories on both of us & all were great memories. I am sure his loss is difficult to deal with but he is in a better place. Just a quick note: As our captain for 3 out of the 4 years at BG he was a leader for all of us to follow! He would do anything to set the proper example for the rest of us on and off the ice. We will miss him dearly!!!

It is difficult to find the words to express our profound sympathies to you and the boys upon the passing of Dave.
After having the privilege of working with Dave for many years, I can attest that he was a man of genuine character. His personality was one that people naturally gravitated to as he would take the time to listen to anyone with a personal or professional issue.
He was a true gentleman, kind and caring and I will forever cherish those 5:00 AM
“Chew the fat” sessions where we would discuss family and our daily lives (very little work issues).
Although, Deb and I are unable to attend the Memorial Service our thoughts and prayers will be with all of you at this very difficult time.

Words cannot begin to describe how saddened we are at the loss of Dave. He was such a sweet soul. I still remember how he came to my parents’ house when my mom found out she was sick and he cleaned up all the leaves that had fallen from their tree in the backyard. His thoughtfulness was so appreciated and will never be forgotten.
I know that words cannot heal the hole that you all are feeling in your hearts. But I do hope that you are eventually able to remember all of the wonderful memories that you have of Dave. Those memories will make you smile when you least expect it.

When Darlene and I heard the sad news we felt as though we had lost something precious and irreplaceable. We could not even imagine the lost you must feel. When I think of Whitey it makes me smile because he always made the other person feel good about themselves and he laughed so easily with you.

I worked with Dave from 1999 until his retirement. In the Policing business you meet many people in positions of leadership who fail to truly garner the respect of the rank and file. Dave was the opposite. He was kind, genuine, he listened to you, lead by example and was the prototype of what a Sergeant should be.
