Obituary of Harry (Harm) Roffel

ROFFEL: Harry (Harm)-

A resident of Chatham, Harry Roffel passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with family at his side on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the age of 84.

Born in Odoorn, The Netherlands, Harry was the son of the late Jan and Siemkje Roffel.

Beloved husband of 58 years to Diane Roffel (nee Riedstra).

Loving father of Judi (Michael) Hoekstra of Portage La Prairie, MB, Nancy (James) Jütte of London, Douglas (Crystal) Roffel of Chatham and Brian (Jenny) Roffel of Chatham.

Proud Grandpa of 18 grandchildren (two predeceased) and Great-Grandfather to 6 great-grandchildren.

Dear brother to the late John Roffel (late Mabel), Attie Koopman (late Meindert) and Anne Koomans (late Harry).

Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Harry was always very handy, and together with his brother John, he founded Chatham Fuel Injection. He was an active member and Past President of the Laudate Dominum Choir and also an active member and organist of the Living Hope Free Reformed Church. He enjoyed spending his summers at Elim Lodge Christian Conference Resort, where he was always helping to fix the equipment.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday, November 8, 2021 from 7:00 - 9:00pm Those planning to attend are required to register online at (https://signup.com/go/oqrEnem) or by phoning the Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held at Living Hope Free Reformed Church, 159 Gregory Drive East, Chatham at 10:30am on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. The Service will be live-streamed on the church website. Interment to follow at Arnold Cemetery.
