STEEN:  Bruce Edward Joseph

With profound sadness, his family announces the sudden passing of Bruce Edward Joseph Steen on Wednesday, October 27th after an awesome 72 years.

Beloved father to Paula (Marc) whom he was always so excited to talk with on their weekly FaceTime calls, that were sure to include sharing tips on how to get the best deal. Daughter and best friend Kelly (Paul) shared his love of business and same fun sense of humour. They truly were two peas in a pod.

Bruce felt fortunate to have a wonderful relationship with both of his sons-in-law and was so proud of the families his daughters had created with them.

He was the absolute best Grandpa Bruce in the world to his 4 beautiful grandchildren. Andrew, was his sole grandson who he loved to banter with hysterically for hours and was proud of his commitment and determination. Bruce was so proud of Brooklyn, his fellow little golfer who he loved spoiling with countless KitKats and going out for breakfasts in Florida. Samantha’s love of art and dance always captivated Grandpa Bruce and he was grateful that she was always ready for a photo-op with him. Emily was Grandpa Bruce’s little rascal who always made him laugh and blew him away with her ability to thrive in life.

Cherished brother of Doug (Karen) who no matter the distance still always made sure to stay connected.  Predeceased by his parents Allan and Gwendoline Steen.

Bruce was an absolute riot and made friends wherever he went. If you were lucky enough to be one of them, you were along for the ride of a lifetime. He made sure everyone around him was guaranteed to have a laugh in their day. Bruce found great joy in spending time with family and close friends and golfing with his long time buddies.

Bruce was a successful business owner who truly earned his retirement and ventured off into the sunset spending his winters in Florida golfing and his summers by the pool with his children and grandchildren. His Annual Canada Day Water Balloon fight was the family highlight of the year!

Bruce crushed his bucket list and lived life to the absolute fullest. He always said, “Memories are the best souvenirs” and his family feels very lucky to have enough to last them their lifetime.

Cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life will be planned to honor the amazing life that Bruce lived.  In lieu of flowers, the family would be thrilled to have any special stories or pictures that you can share sent to brucesteen2021@gmail.com.
