Sorry to hear of Dr. Walker's passing. He was our family doctor for decades. He always had the most advanced diagnosis and treatment that always worked quickly, which in my case ranged from allergies to pneumonia. For our family using his name would get immediate hospital treatment and when any of us were in hospital he could make a few comments to the nurse, and a complete recovery was assured. I'm sure Dr. Walker's good works could fill volumes.

Dr. Walker and my uncle, Dr. Hugh Edgar, were in the same medical class at Western. We sat behind Dr. Walker and Joyce at First Presbyterian Church and each week Hugh would pass a message on to Dr. Walker through Mom (Dorothy Edgar Scott) and then Dr. Walker would pass a message back to Hugh which would be relayed to Hugh in Mom & Hugh’s weekly Sunday night phone calls. This went on for years and the two men got a real kick out of it and would always laugh and speak about it at their annual medical class reunion party held at my uncle’s house. Our whole family will miss him and our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Dear David, Mark, Stephen, Susan, and Families
It is through the mirror of hindsight that we can clearly see who are the truly caring, loving, kind and trustworthy people are. Uncle George was one of these extraordinary individuals. Spending time as a girl at Grandma & Grandpa's house with frequent visits to the Walker home, we always remember how welcome Uncle George's warm words and smile made us feel. How wonderful that his spirit and values will live on in all of his family's generations. Sending love and our deepest condolences. Although we will unfortunately not be able to attend the service tomorrow, our thoughts are with you.

'Uncle George' as the Allen family always referred to, was always helping our family as the kids grew up in Chatham. Julie and I received unprecedented medical care for our 4 kids as George made many house calls to prevent a ridiculous wait at Emergency. I was able to set up a humble branch office in an empty back room at his office on Victotria which allowed me to spend more time with my family and less time in Kitchener/Elmira. Who can forget all the visits with George and Joyce in their living room. An outstanding man that we will never forget.

Dr Walker was my doctor since I was 5 years old. I am now 63 years of age ! I will never forget him and all he did for my family! He delivered my two children and took good care of my parents. Just before my mother passed (10 years ago ) he took the time to come and see her at Riverview Gardens even after he had recently retired ! What a compassionate soul ! He was very thorough and we were so fortunate to have known him and had him for our doctor for so many years! He was the best and truly cared for our well being ! On behalf of all my family I send my most sincere and heartfelt condolences to all his family and close friends. Truly a valuable person in our community ! He sure is missed ! May he Rest In Peace

The community has lost a wonderful man who devoted his life to helping his fellowman. Our family was fortunate to have had Dr walker as our doctor during his many years of practice, He was never too busy to listen and console his many patients, He was so helpful and showed so much compassion when we had our disabled son as well as when we lost of our middle son. We remember the time he came out to our house (in the country) at 2 o’clock in the morning because our oldest son was ill. You - his family can be so proud of him and the life he lived and now it is his time to Rest In Peace

Dr Walker and his wife Joyce were always there for me. Dr. Walker even came to my house when my Dad was dying. He helped me to take care of my family before they all passed. I was fortunate enough to see him a couple of years ago and I hugged him. He was an amazing Doctor. I missed him soooo much when he retired. My condolences to his family. R.I.P Doc.

Peter and I will always have many fond memories of our times with Joyce and George in the Virgin Islands.

John remembers George as an extraordinary physician. George was in the same small call group with him for many years and looked after his patients on evenings and weekends. He was always happy to help out.
George was our family physician. He was always there when we needed him, and always took the time to make us feel better. Lynn and her parents had George or his father(RH) as their family physician for many years, and she can attest to their kind and gentle manner.
We lived just around the corner on Victoria Avenue and visited with George and Joyce quite frequently.
We shall truly miss him.

Dr George and I were frequent tennis partners, playing each week at Tom Campbell’s home. We didn’t always win but he was an extraordinary athlete. During breaks in the action, or when Leo and Tom were deciding who missed the last return, Dr George shared his Whistler Ski plans with me. Very passionate man who enjoyed life immensely.

Dave, Mark, Stephen, Susan and your families, I was sorry to hear that your father passed away, but celebrate the very full life he lived. I remember receiving help from your grandfather and then being a long-time patient of your father when your mother was his nurse. I knew him also as a friend through Victoria Ave. U.C. Many are saying that he will be missed. He has been missed as he downsized his practice and then retired after carrying on well beyond the time that his health and age warranted.

Dr. Walker delivered me and was my family physician until I moved away from Chatham in my mid-thirties. He wasn’t just a doctor, it was clear it was his calling and he truly cared about his patients. Our family was incredibly blessed to have such a caring and wonderful doctor. His father was the family doctor for my fathers family as they were all from Thamesville, Ontario. Dr. Walker was more than a physician - to our entire Beuglet family for over 50 years - The service and care, kindness and compassion was imbeyond anything I’ve ever witnessed or known - from housecalls, To his complete understanding and professionalism - NO ONE WILL ever replace him !
