Obituary of Bonnie Jinks

JINKS, Bonnie (nee Button)...

After a short battle with acute leukemia, Bonnie Jinks passed away on February 24th, 2021 at London Health Sciences Centre - Victoria Campus, London at the age of 69.

Beloved wife of Murray Jinks, married for almost 50 years.

Loving mother of Alan (Elizabeth) Jinks and Mark Jinks (Dawn Pincombe).

Grandma to Matthew and Colin Jinks.

Caring sister to Janet Nethercott, and Lois Button. 

Aunt to Stacey and Kevin Nethercott, Kevin and David Jinks and Paul Schmitchen.

Sister-in-law to June (the late Willy) Schmitchen and Gordon (Carolyn) Jinks.

Bonnie leaves behind a large extended family that will miss her greatly.

Bonnie had a wonderful sense of humor and was a very energetic individual. She was a very active member at Charing Cross United Church. A favourite pastime was playing cards, usually Pepper, with friends, traveling and taking cruises. Novembers were spent in Florida, relaxing in the sun. Bonnie adored her family and dedicated her life to teaching. She began her career in 1970 at Talbot Street School and taught at W.J Baird, McKeough, Gregory Drive, Indian Creek and Queen Elizabeth. Retiring from full time teaching in 2003, she kept supply teaching within the school system until 2015. 

Family and friends will be received at McKinlay Funeral Home on Sunday, February 28th, 2021 between the hours of 5:00pm and 8:00pm. A funeral service will take place at Charing Cross United Church, 8561 Middle Line, Charing Cross, ON on Monday, March 1st, 2021 at 1:00pm. Interment in Pardoville-Union Cemetery, Raleigh Township. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario mandates that all those in attendance must wear a mask.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bonnie may be made to the Charing Cross United Church or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC).
